Trinidad, the colonial city and UNESCO world cultural heritage

Trinidad, with its approximately 50,000 residents, is in every guide book the most praised attraction of Cuba because of its colonial style. It’s true!

But what many don`t know, Trinidad and its immediate surroundings offer a wide variety and numerous excursions. Diving, deserted whitesand beaches, turquoise-blue caribbien sea, fishing, hiking, riding, bicycle tours, dancing lessons, disco, language studies or just relax and unwind. Trinidad offers something for everyone.

The city was founded on 23. December 1514 by the sailor named Diego Velasquez. Trinidad is after Baracoa and Bayamo the third oldest city of Cuba. In the 19th century Trinidad and its surrounding area was the headquarter of the Cuban sugar production. In its huge valleys one-third of Cuba's total production has grown. By slave revolts, but also by the general decline of sugar production from sugar cane during the sugar beet cultivation in Europe, ended the success of the city, still manifested today by impressive buildings.
